इस ट्रेन हादसे के बाद भारतीय रेल मंत्री अश्वनी वैष्णव ने एक बयान जारी किया है, जिसमें उन्होंने बताया है कि बालासोर ट्रेन हादसे की असली वजह का पता चल चुका है, सेफ्टी कमिश्नर जल्द अपनी रिपोर्ट सौंपेंगे।

अश्विनी वैष्णव ने कहा कि रेलवे सुरक्षा आयुक्त ने मामले की जांच की है और जांच रिपोर्ट आने दीजिए लेकिन हमने घटना के कारणों और इसके लिए जिम्मेदार लोगों की पहचान कर ली है… यह इलेक्ट्रॉनिक इंटरलॉकिंग में बदलाव के कारण हुआ।’ अभी हमारा फोकस बस रेलवे ट्रैक पर ट्रेनों के सुचारू रूप से परिचालन की बहाली पर है।
